LECTURE HALL REDESIGN

DESIGN SOLUTION
Half of the classrooms and lecture halls were moved to the curtain wall to provide natural lighting and warmth to the space. Rather than just using a wall and cutting off the natural light source, partition walls feature 8’ of glass in order to maintain the necessary privacy and acoustic property while allowing light to flood into multiple spaces. Dramatic ceiling and lighting features were added to create a dynamic feel while also defining each space. Dramatic curved walls were used to add visual interest to the large and open corridor. Oak State’s school colors were the primary hues used but notes of light green and blue-green were balanced with neutral tones to add a subtle depth to the palette.

Block diagrams were created to explore spatial relationships for the University’s lecture hall and classrooms.
